Chickpea Salad in Park County
Our chickpea taste test was a hit! We served a mock chicken salad made with chickpeas instead of chicken. Lots of students and teachers loved this one. Hudson, a kindergarten student said “This is bustin’ bustin'” and Cy, a fourth grader, said “This is better than pizza!”
We do cafeteria taste tests for two reasons: we want to see which recipes students prefer, before we serve them on the lunch tray, and we want to encourage our students to try new foods! That’s why we don’t view it as a bad thing when a recipe isn’t popular. As long as students are voting, that means they’re trying new foods!
